About Portea

Portea Script is a typeface designed for teaching and learning handwriting in educational materials Santillana publishing house. In 2019, the FSSF team was called to make an upgrade of the typeface.

In Portea v2.0 the shapes of each glyph was redrawn, adjust and optimized for a better performance. Alternate glyphs, ligatures and OpenType features were added. Also, a dotted style was developed.

The letters were designed prioritizing forms and connections to focus on assembling words that facilitate understanding of the shape of the letters and their behavior in text. The set covers Spanish language, punctuation marks and math symbols.
